Raising a child isn’t easy, but during this quarantine, it can be even harder. Pero ‘wag mag-alala, moms! Tulad ng ating Wais na Misis and Nanay na may Laban, Neri Miranda, nothing is too difficult when it comes to raising your Batang may Laban!
We asked Mommy Neri for her best Wais Tips on how to be a Nanay na May Laban even during lockdown. Keep reading to see how she raises Miggy, her Batang May Laban!
Spend Time Together as a Family
In lockdown, your child may not be able to play with their friends, but they can still spend lots of time with family members that live at home!
“We have more time for our family now, especially Chito, who has always been on the road before the pandemic,” says Mommy Neri. “It wasn't really a struggle for us to adjust, because we love staying home and spending time with Miggy.”
So mag-family time na kayo, moms! Spending quality time with your child can be the Plus in Energy boost they need to get through lockdown.1
Mommy Neri also makes sure she spends more time with Miggy with daily rituals. She wakes Miggy up every day and they have breakfast together. This helps Miggy stay alert and excited for his online classes.
Aside from daily rituals, there are lots of fun activities you can do together as a family. Watching shows and movies together, playing board games, and exercising are just some other fun bonding activities you can try!
Keep Them Active
Mommy Neri’s next Wais Tip is to make sure your child stays active even in lockdown! The whole family takes walks every day to get fresh air and they exercise together like going swimming when the safety protocols allow.
And exercise can also be fun! Mommy Neri says Miggy stays active by playing wrestling with Chito, his dad. “Chito is Miggy's wrestling partner, and they play rough. Boys will be boys, I guess,” she says. “Chito also needs to be in tiptop shape, to keep up with the limitless energy of a 3+ year old boy.”
Staying active is a great way to give your child the Plus in Growth they need to help them grow stronger!2
Give Them New Activities
Mommy Neri makes sure Miggy always has something new to do. Learning new skills can give your child a Plus in Energy while helping them relieve stress and helping them concentrate.3
During lockdown, Miggy plays lots of board games and is learning how to play chess. Mommy Neri also teaches him how to plant fruits and vegetables!
There are lots of other new activities that your child can do even in lockdown like learning to draw or paint, learning to ride a bike, or even learning how to help with cooking!
Give Them a Healthy Diet
“Importante talaga ang tamang nutrition para sa mga Batang may Laban, ‘di ba moms?” Mommy Neri says a healthy diet is one of the best ways to keep Miggy healthy in lockdown.
“We made sure early on, that Miggy is exposed to all types of food and flavors. We also take time to explain that eating healthy makes him strong,” she says. She also says Miggy loves healthy foods like oatmeal and fresh fruits.
A proper diet is the best way for children to get a Plus in Growth to make sure they grow up big and strong. It can even give them the Plus in Immunity to help fight off sickness.4 Giving your child Bonakid Pre-School® 3+ is one way to make sure your child gets the essential vitamins and minerals they need for a healthy diet.
Prepare Them for Challenges
Dapat lagaing handa ang Batang May Laban, kahit lockdown pa! Miggy is always ready and excited for his online classes. Mommy Neri helps Miggy stay ready for any challenge by spending lots of time playing with him after class, and making sure he stays healthy and happy.
“We make sure that Miggy has enough exercise, plays outdoors as much as possible, eats healthy, and of course, drinks his Bonakid Pre-School® 3+ every day,” she says.
Sana makatulong ang mga Wais Tips ni Mommy Neri sa inyo, mommies! And remember to give your child Bonakid Pre-School® 3+, to make sure they have the Plus in Growth, Plus in Energy, and Plus in Immunity they need to become a Batang May Laban!
